Theresa Boston-Ellis is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Marion County Public Schools.
She joined the district in 1992 as an accountant. Over the past three decades, she rose in rank to various positions including senior accountant, supervisor, director of finance, and deputy superintendent. Boston-Ellis was appointed to her current position in 2016.
As Chief Financial Officer, Boston-Ellis oversees multiple district departments including Accounting, Auditing, Budgeting, Finance, Payroll, Property Records, Purchasing, Risk Management, and Student Information and State Reporting (SISR).
Prior to joining the district, Boston-Ellis worked for the private sector in the oil, gas, and transportation industries.
Her bachelor’s degree in accounting comes from Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University (FAMU).
